Consumer Identification Program Notice
Important Information about Procedures for Opening a New Account. In an effort to protect you and our country, President Bush signed the USA Patriot Act into law on October 26, 2001. Section 326 of the USA Patriot Act requires all financial institutions to:
• Verify the identity of any person seeking to open an account (which includes Safe Deposit Boxes, Loans and Deposit Accounts).
• Maintain records of the information used to verify the person's identity including name, address, date of birth, and other identifying means.
Virginia Commerce Bank trusts you will understand the necessity of these requirements and help us follow them by presenting picture identification, such as, a valid driver’s license or US Passport, and other verification documents as requested.
In some cases, identification will be requested from those who have banked with us prior to the adoption of the USA Patriot Act, because original documentation was not obtained with the opening of the account. In all cases, we pledge to protect your identity and confidentiality.
Virginia Commerce Bank proudly supports all efforts to protect and maintain the security of our customers and our country.
We are committed to . . .
Making the difference for you and your community.
